UR Zap 2 remote control for TV sets, satellite receivers

and cable boxes

1 Inserting the batteries

Open the battery flap on the back of the remote control and

insert 2 alkaline AAA batteries. Check that the polarity

markings on the batteries and in the battery compartment are

correctly lined up (+=+), then close the flap carefully. – Always

use undamaged, fully charged batteries.

2 Adapting to appliances

In order to control your appliances you must adapt or set the

remote control to them. There are two ways of doing so: direct

control code entry or code search.

2.1 Direct control code entry using the enclosed list

Example: setting to control a Panasonic television set:

2.1.1 TVUsing the button, select to control a television set

(TV).

2.1.2 The enclosed list gives, for example, the Panasonic

Code . 241

Please make sure you have selected the correct list for

television sets (TV).

2.1.3 To prepare code entry, keep the (sound on/off)Mute

button and the (appliance on/off) button pressedPWR

simultaneously(!) until the lamp (LED) lights constantly.

2.1.4 Then enter the code numbers as follows:

2.1.4.1 1st number of code (hundreds = Volume -): Press the

VOL- 2 2(volume down) button- twice for of 41. Press as

often as the number indicates. (1=once, 2 = twice, etc.)

2.1.4.2 2nd number of code (tens = Channel+): Press the

CH+ (channel up) button four times for the 4 of 2 1.4

2.1.4.3 3rd number of code (ones = Volume+): Press the

VOL+ (volume up) button once for the of 24 .1 1

2.1.4.4 Finally, press the button again briefly. The lampMute

( goes out. To enter a 0, do not press any button. IfLED)

incorrect entries are made the remote control blinks for about 3

seconds.

2.1.5 Then test the control code setting by trying to control (in

this example) your television set. If it does not work at all or not

correctly try a different code from the list or code search (see

below).

2.1.6 To make the setting for a satellite receiver or a cable

box, press the button instead of and enter a satelliteSAT TV

code accordingly.

2.2 Code search

If the brand of your appliance is not in the list or none of the

codes given fits, we recommend a code search.

2.2.1 Switch on the appliance to be controlled. Program is

running. A channel number, for example, appears in the

display of your satellite receiver.

2.2.2 TV SAT Press the or appliance button according to the

appliance type to be controlled, e.g. SAT.

2.2.3 ON/OFF PWR Keep the (appliance on/off) and Mute

buttons pressed simultaneously(!) until the lamp lights

constantly.

2.2.4 ON/OFF PWR Press the (appliance on/off) button once

briefly.

2.2.5 UR Zap 2The emits a different signal every 1.3

seconds. When your appliance reacts, very quickly press the

Mute button to confirm a functioning control code. – It is

advisable to have your finger already placed on the Mute

button so that you can react quickly enough. Otherwise the UR

Zap 2 emits the next signal before you have reacted.

2.2.6 Finally, test the control code setting by trying to control

your SAT appliance. If it does not work correctly, please try the

code search again.

Note: Remember to switch your appliance, e.g. , back onSAT

again if you wish to continue searching.

2.3 Code Identification

You can identify the codes you have set at any time:

2.3.1 TVSelect the appliance to be controlled using the or

SAT button.

2.3.2 On/Off PWR MuteKeep the and buttons pressed

simultaneously(!) until the lamp lights constantly.

2.3.3 Ch- Press the button briefly once.

2.3.4 Vol Then count off the code. First press briefly and

count the number of times the hundred blinks, then press Ch+

briefly and count the number of times the ten blinks and

finally, press briefly the number of times the one blinks.Vol

– No blink means 0. You can note the numbers on the back of

the battery compartment, e.g. for quick code entry after

replacing the batteries.

3 Operation

You operate the basic functions of your appliances in the same

way as if you were using the original remote controls. Select

device to be controlled by pressing or button.TV Sat

3.1 Comfort buttons

The button (channel 1 button): Some appliances Zap on One

can only be switched on with this button and not with the PWR

On/Off button. In addition, this button brings you back quickly

to Channel 1 if you are able to watch many channels and are

currently watching a channel with a long channel number. The

lower channel number settings are frequently the most

important channels.

Scan: CH+When you press this button a channel-up signal is

emitted every 1,3 seconds and the following channels are

shown one after the other without your having to press a button

repeatedly. This function stops when you press any button and

ends automatically after 2 minutes.

1 Batterien einlegen

Bitte öffnen Sie die Batterieklappe an der Geräterückseite und

legen Sie 2 Alkali-Mikrozellenbatterien ein. Achten Sie auf die

angegebenen Polaritäten auf Batterien und im Batteriefach

(+=+), und schließen Sie das Fach wieder vorsichtig. – Bitte

achten Sie darauf, immer einwandfreie, gut geladene Batterien

zu verwenden.

2 Geräteanpassung

Um Ihre Geräte steuern zu können, müssen Sie die

Fernbedienung für Ihre Geräte einstellen. Dazu gibt es zwei

Möglichkeiten: die direkte Steuerkodeeingabe oder die

Kodesuche.
