Mini Horse
Congratulations on obtaining your Verbos Electronics Mini Horse. This Euro-Rack format touchplate keyboard
controller module can be used to dynamically control many parameters at the same time. The module contains
12 independent pressure and position sensetive touchplate keys as well as a master section for using them
together as a unied controller.
The Individual Keys
The majority of the module is occupied by twelve gold plated touch sensetive keys. Each of these keys is an
independent circuit, uneffected by the others, with its own outputs for position, pressure and gate. The position
output is 0volts at the end near the user and 10 volts near the red knob. When the nger is lifted, the control
voltage remains at the level it was last touched, allowing swiping across the keys to draw connected sets of pa-
rameters on modules such as the Harmonic Oscillator or Bark Filter Processor. The pressure output provides a
higher voltage as more skin touches the key, resulting in higher voltage for a harder press. The gate output goes
high whenever the key is touched.
The Master Section
The section at the right side provides outputs of the position, pressure and gate of whichever key was last
activated. The active key is indicated by a red LED shining through the holes in the key near its number. Addi-
tionally, the Variable output provides a tunable control voltage, set by the red knob directly above the active key.
The Fixed output is a voltage ranging from 0 volts at key 1 to 10 volts at key 12 and equally spaced between
them. This section allows the Mini Horse to be used as a controller for a single synth voice, in the style of classic
touchplate keyboards from the 1960s and 1970s. However, the use of the master section in no way effects the
individual keys’ outputs.
