Introduction
Producers and engineers use track referencing during music production,
mixing, and mastering. Referencing is the process of comparing the
dynamic range and character of your song to songs of a similar genre
and style to your desired sound. A reference track’s dynamic range and
sonic character can be used to communicate the sound you’re aiming
for in your mix or master. Reference tracks are also a good way to
develop a shared musical vocabulary when you’re collaborating on a
project with other people.
Audiolens is a system audio tool designed to help you drive iZotope’s
Assistant technology with your personal references. It enables you to
capture any audio source and use that directly with our products inside
your digital audio workstation. Today Audiolens Targets work with
Ozone’s Master Assistant and Neutron’s Assistant.

You can use the iZotope Product Portal application to install and
authorize Audiolens. You can nd download links and information about

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MAC USERS
Installing Audiolens on a Mac requires some additional setup. You
can nd step-by-step instructions for installing Audiolens on your
Mac .here
Authorizing Audiolens
You can authorize Audiolens using the iZotope Product Portal
application. You can nd additional information about authorizing
iZotope products in the How to authorize iZotope software
knowledgebase article on the iZotope Support portal.

System Audio Conguration
Audiolens listens to the system output of your computer.
Conguring system audio on Mac
On Mac computers, Audiolens uses Rogue Amoeba ACE technology to
directly capture your system audio output without needing to operate
upstream or downstream from other system audio tools.
Changing system audio output settings on Mac
1. Open System Preferences and click the Sound icon click theor
Sound control icon in the menu bar and select “Sound
Preferences…” to open the Sound preferences pane.
2. Select the output device in the Output tab of the Sound
Preferences pane.
Conguring system audio on Windows
On Windows, Audiolens uses the WASAPI driver to capture audio output
from your system audio output device.
Change system audio output settings on Windows
1. Open the System > Sound page in Settings:
1. From the Start Menu:
1. Search for and select the app.Settings Settings
2. Click in the sidebar and select from theSystem Sound
