Your new iHome Bluetooth stereo headphones are designed to link with your Bluetooth

2. Charging Your Headphone

IMPORTANT: Your headphone operates on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

Although the battery was fully charged when it left our factory, like all rechargeable batteries it

can begin to discharge during periods of non-use. We recommend that you charge the battery

for at least 2 hours before ﬁrst time use.

1. Connect the micro USB plug on the charging cable to the micro USB port on the headphone.

2. Connect the standard USB plug on the charging cable to any standard USB power port

such as found on a notebook computer, or the charging adapter for an iPod, iPhone, etc.

The Power/Charging/Pairing indicator will glow RED while the headphone is charging. The

indicator will turn Oﬀ when the battery is fully charged.

Reminder: Allow the battery to charge for 2 hours before ﬁrst time use. Normal recharge time

after ﬁrst use should take about 2 hours. When fully charged the battery provides up to 15

hours of working time, or 90 days of standby time.

Because your iB81 headphones use Bluetooth version 4.0 the battery level indicator of the

headphones may also appear on your smartphone home screen, usually adjacent to the

phone’s own battery level indicator, if your speciﬁc phone supports this display function.

3. Multi-Function Button (MFB)

All functions and operations of your iB81 headphones are controlled by a single control knob.

4. Auto-Linking With A Previously Paired Device

If your iB81 headphones were previously paired with a Bluetooth enabled smartphone or

music player they will attempt to auto-link with that device again whenever that device is within

the Bluetooth operating range range.

1. Press and hold the Multi-function button on your iB81 headphones for about 3 seconds until

you hear the “Power On” voice prompt and the blue LED indicator slowly ﬂashes to indicate

the headphones are in the ‘Standby’ mode and searching for a previously paired device.

2. Make sure that the Bluetooth function of the previously paired device is ‘On’.

Note: If no previously paired device is found after 3 minutes the auto-linking function stops and

your iB81 headphones shut oﬀ automatically to preserve the battery life.

5. Switching the Power On and Oﬀ

1. Press and hold the Multi-function button for approximately 3 seconds. The voice prompt will

say “Power On” and the LED indicator turns blue and begins ﬂashing slowly.

2. When the power is ‘On’ press and hold the Multi-function button for approximately 3

seconds. The voice prompt will say “Power Off. The LED indicator brieﬂy turns red and then

shuts oﬀ. This indicates that the power is ‘Oﬀ’.

6. Manually Pairing With a Bluetooth Enabled Smartphone or Music

Player For The First Time

If your smartphone or music player, such as the iPod touch, is Bluetooth enabled (supports the

A2DP Bluetooth Proﬁle) you may pair these iHome headphones with your phone or music

player to listen to music and make or receive calls as long as the two devices are within the

Bluetooth operating range of approximately 33-feet of each other.

Note: Your iHome headphones must be in the Power ‘Off’ mode to begin the manual pairing

process.

1. Make sure that your iHome iB81 headphones are switched ‘Oﬀ’. Make sure that your

smartphone or music player is ‘On’.

2. Press and hold the Multi-function button on your iB81 headphones for about 6 seconds until

you hear the “Power On” and “Pairing” voice prompts. The LED indicator begins ﬂashing

blue and red rapidly to indicate it is trying to pair with a compatible device.

3. If necessary, turn on the Bluetooth function of your phone or music player so that it begins

searching for a compatible device.

4. “iHome iB81” should appear on your phone or music player’s compatible devices list. You

may also see a message such as “Not Paired”. Tap on that message to complete the pairing

process. If your phone or music player asks for a ‘password’ to complete the pairing

process, enter ‘0000’ on the keypad of your phone or music player.

5. When pairing is successful the screen on your phone should show “iHome iB81 Connected”

or similar message and the blue LED indicator on the iB81 headphones will remain ‘On’.

Your headphones are now ready for use.

7. Wearing Your Headphones

Your iHome iB81 Bluetooth headphones are supplied with padded ear cushions for long

wearing comfort. The headband can be extended to accommodate almost any head size.

There are ‘L’ and ‘R’ markings on the inside of the headband, When the headphones are worn

properly the Multi Function Control will be on your left side.

8. Using Your Headphones

Note: Some of the functions described below may not be supported on your speciﬁc

smartphone. Check with your smartphone owner’s manual to conﬁrm the features supported

by your phone.

9. Auxiliary Input Jack

The auxiliary input jack allows you to use your iB81 Bluetooth headphones as normal

headphones so that you can listen to music on any non-Bluetooth device that is equipped with

a 3.5mm headphone jack.

You will need a stereo audio cable (not included) with a 3.5mm plug on each end. Connect the

cable to the auxiliary input jack on the bottom of the ‘R’ earpiece of your iB81 headphones, and

to the headphone jack of your auxiliary music source.

Your iB81 headphones should be in the Power ‘Oﬀ’ mode. Use the volume and track

navigation controls on your music player as your would with any normal headphones.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Reception is noisy or intermittent

Make sure that the headphones and the paired device are within the Bluetooth operating

range of approximately 33-feet.

2. No Sound

Make sure that your headphones are properly paired and connected with your Bluetooth

enabled smartphone or music player. Refer to the “Pairing” instructions in this manual and in

the manual supplied with your phone or music player if necessary.

The rechargeable battery in your headphones may be exhausted and need to be recharged.

Refer to the “Charging Your Headphones” instructions in this manual.

3. Unable to Pair/Connect

The pairing settings between the headphones and your smartphone or music player may have

been erased or deleted. Follow the “Pairing” instructions in this manual to re-pair and

reconnect the devices.

Turn oﬀ any other Bluetooth devices that are not being used to reduce external interference.

4. Some Functions Do Not Work

Your speciﬁc model of smartphone may not support some of the functions described in this

manual. Refer to the manual supplied with your phone for further information.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Always remember to turn your headphones oﬀ if they will not be used for a long period of time.

Do not expose your headphones to extremely hot or cold temperatures for extended periods.

Do not expose them to direct sunlight or leave them in places such as the dashboard of your

car on a hot day. Prevent water or any other liquids from entering the cabinets of your

headphones.

Protect Your Hearing

Using these, or any headphones at high volume levels for long periods can result in permanent

hearing damage. Always start listening with volume controls on your headphones and your

paired smartphone or music player at a low level and then gradually increase the volume

controls to a comfortable listening level.

LIMITED 1 YEAR WARRANTY

iHome Products, a division of SDI Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred to as SDI), warrants this product to be

free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year

from the date of original purchase.

Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was

originally purchased. Should this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect

or malfunction during the warranty period, SDI will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge.

This decision is subject to verification of the defect or malfunction upon delivery of this product to the Factory

Service Center authorized by Customer Service.

and shipping instructions.

Action Required

When headphones are 'Oﬀ’ Press and Hold the MFB inward for 3 seconds until you

hear the "Power On" voice prompt.

When headphones are 'Oﬀ' Press and Hold the MFB inward for 6 seconds until you

hear the "Pairing" voice prompt. The LED indicator ﬂashes blue and red rapidly.

Make sure your Bluetooth device is 'On' and in the Pairing Model. When iHome iB81

appears on your devices menu, select it to complete pairing.

Short press the MFB inward to start playback. Short press to pause playback. Short

press to resume playback.

Rotate the MFB button upward during playback.

Rotate the MFB button downward during playback.

Rotate and hold the MFB button up during playback.

Rotate and hold the MFB button down during playback.

Short press the MFB inward when you hear the incoming ring sound. NOTE: Music

will automatically pause when you are answering a call and resume when you end the

call.

Double press the MFB inward to decline the incoming call.

Short press the MFB to end the call and 'hang up'.

While the call is in progress double press the MFB inward to transfer the call between

the phone and the headphones.

When phone is paired with headphones but no call is in progress double press the

MFB inward to redial the last number.

Press and hold the MFB inward for 3 seconds until your hear the "Power Oﬀ" prompt

It is dangerous and illegal (in some jurisdictions) to use headphones when you are driving

a car, riding a bike or motorcycle, or operating a watercraft. Be aware of local laws and

regulations.

Do not use these headphones in situations where they might cause distractions or prevent

you from hearing warning sounds.

There are no user serviceable parts in these headphones. Do not attempt any service or

repairs on your own. Refer to the warranty for service, repair or replacement information.

2. Recharge du casque

IMPORTANT : Votre casque utilise une batterie au lithium-ion intégrée rechargeable. Bien que la

batterie ait été complètement chargée à la sortie d’usine, elle peut, comme toutes les batteries

rechargeables, se décharger pendant les périodes de non-utilisation. Il est recommandé de charger

l'appareil pendant au moins 2 heures avant la première utilisation.

1. Branchez le connecteur micro USB du câble de charge dans le port micro USB du casque.

2. Branchez le connecteur USB standard du câble de charge dans un port USB d'alimentation

standard tel que celui d'un ordinateur portable ou d'un adaptateur de charge pour iPod, iPhone, etc.

4. Connexion automatique avec un appareil précédemment couplé

il essaie de se connecter automatiquement à cet appareil à chaque fois qu’il se trouve dans la

portée Bluetooth

2. Lorsque l'appareil est « allumé », maintenez appuyé le bouton multifonction pendant environ 3

secondes. Le message vocal « Power Oﬀ » sera émis. Le témoin s'allume brièvement en rouge,

puis s'éteint. Cela indique que l'appareil est « éteint ».

6. Couplage manuel avec un smartphone ou lecteur audio compatible

Bluetooth pour la première fois

rapidement en rouge et bleu indiquant que le casque essaie de se coupler avec un appareil

compatible.

3. Si nécessaire, activez la fonction Bluetooth de votre téléphone ou lecteur audio pour qu'il

commence à rechercher un appareil compatible.

4. « iHome iB81 » doit apparaître dans la liste des appareils compatibles de votre téléphone ou

lecteur audio. Vous pouvez également voir un message du type « Not Paired ». Touchez ce

message pour poursuivre le processus de couplage. Si votre téléphone ou lecteur audio vous

demande un « mot de passe » pour poursuivre le processus de couplage, entrez « 0000 » en

l'utilisateur le clavier de votre téléphone ou lecteur audio.

5. Lorsque le couplage est réussi, l'écran de votre téléphone aﬃchera « iHome iB81 Connected »

ou un message similaire et le témoin du casque iB81 reste allumé. Votre casque est maintenant

prêt à l'emploi.

7. Port du casque

Votre casque iHome iB81 Bluetooth est livré avec des oreillettes rembourrées pour un plus grand

confort lors des longues périodes d'utilisation. Le bandeau peut être allongé pour s’adapter à toute

forme de tête. Les lettres « L » et « R » sont inscrites sur le bandeau ; lorsque le casque est porté

correctement le bouton multifonction doit être à votre droite.

8. Utilisation du casque

Remarque : Certaines des fonctions décrites ci-dessous peuvent ne pas être prises en charge par

votre smartphone. Consultez le guide d'utilisation de votre smartphone pour connaître les fonctions

prises en charge.

9. Prise d'entrée auxiliaire

La prise d'entrée auxiliaire vous permet d'utiliser votre casque Bluetooth iB81 comme un casque

normal de manière à pouvoir écouter de la musique à partir de tout appareil non-Bluetooth équipé

d'une sortie casque 3,5mm.

Vous devez disposer d'un câble audio stéréo (non fourni) avec un connecteur 3,5 mm à chaque

extrémité. Branchez un connecteur du câble dans l'entrée auxiliaire située en bas de l’oreillette «R

» du casque iB81, et l’autre connecteur dans la sortie casque de votre source audio auxiliaire.

Votre casque iB81 doit être éteint. Utilisez les touches de réglage du volume et de contrôle des

pistes de votre lecteur audio comme vous le feriez avec tout casque normal.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Réception bruyante ou intermittente

Veillez à ce que le casque et l'appareil couplé soient dans la portée Bluetooth qui est d'environ 10

mètres.

2. Pas de son

Assurez-vous que votre casque est correctement couplé et connecté avec votre smartphone ou

lecteur audio compatible Bluetooth. Si nécessaire, reportez-vous aux instructions de « couplage »

de ce manuel et du manuel fourni avec votre téléphone ou votre lecteur audio.

Il se peut que la batterie rechargeable de votre casque soit épuisée et nécessite d'être rechargée.

3. Couplage/connexion impossible

Les paramètres de couplage entre le casque et votre smartphone ou lecteur audio ont du être

eﬀacés ou supprimés. Suivez les instructions de « couplage » de ce manuel pour recoupler et

reconnecter les appareils.

Éteignez tous les autres appareils Bluetooth qui ne sont pas utilisés pour réduire les interférences

externes.

4. Certaines fonctions ne marchent pas

Votre modèle particulier de smartphone peut ne pas prendre en charge certaines des fonctions

décrites dans ce manuel. Reportez-vous au manuel fourni avec votre téléphone pour plus

d'informations.

NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN

N'oubliez pas de toujours éteindre votre casque s'il ne va pas être utilisé pendant une longue

période. N'exposez pas votre casque à des températures extrêmement élevées ou basses pendant

de longues périodes. N'exposez pas votre casque à la lumière directe du soleil et ne pas le laisser

sur le tableau de bord de votre voiture par une journée chaude. Évitez que de l'eau ou d'autres

liquides pénètrent dans votre casque.

Protégez votre ouïe

L'utilisation de ce casque ou d’autres types de casques à des niveaux de volume élevés pendant

de longues périodes peut entraîner des dommages auditifs irréversibles. Commencez toujours par

écouter à un faible volume au niveau de votre casque, smartphone ou lecteur audio couplé, puis

augmentez progressivement le volume jusqu'à un niveau d'écoute confortable.

produit est exempt de tout vicede fabrication et de matériaux, dans des conditions normales d'utilisation, pour une

période d'un (1) an à compter de la date d'achat initial.

Si cet appareil ne fonctionne pas de manière satisfaisante, il est préférable de le retourner au magasin où il a été

acheté, dans unepremière étape.Si le problème n'est pas résolu à ce niveau et si l'appareil doit toujours être réparé

pour une défaillance ou un dysfonctionnement durant la période de garantie, SDI, à sa discrétion, le réparera ou le

remplacera sans frais, selon son choix. Cette décision est prise suite à une vérification de la défaillance ou du

dysfonctionnement de l'appareil retourné au centre d'entretien à l'adresse indiquée ci-dessous.

Si une réparation s'impose, appelez le Service à la clientèle au 1-800-288-2792 pour obtenir un numéro d'autorisation

de retour et des instructions sur l'expédition.

REMARQUE : Cette garantie n'est valable que si l'appareil a été utilisé aux fins pour lesquelles il a été destiné. Elle

ne couvre pas (i) tout appareil qui a été endommagé par négligence ou actes délibérés, mauvaise utilisation ou accident

ou qui a été altéré ou réparé par des personnes non autorisées ; (ii) tout appareil dont le boîtier est fissuré/brisé ou

qui a été endommagé par une chaleur excessive ; (iii) tout appareil dont le lecteur CD/cassettes est endommagé (s'il

existe) ; (iv) les frais d'expédition de l'appareil au centre de service et de retour à son propriétaire.

Lorsque le casque est « éteint », maintenez appuyée le bouton BMF vers l’intérieur pendant

3 secondes jusqu'à ce que vous entendiez « Power On ».
