The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral tri-
angle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of
sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to
alert the user to the presence of important operation and servicing
instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

Ensure that the volume of CR-A54/50 and or external device has been set to a
reasonable listening level.

Lightning: For added protection for this product, unplug it from the wall outlet and discon-
nect the antenna or cable system during a lightning storm or when it is left unattended
and unused for long periods of time. This will prevent damage to the product due to
lightning or power-line surges.
Power Lines: An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of over-
head power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such
power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should
be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits, as contact with them might
be fatal.
Overloading: Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience
receptacles as this can result in a risk of re or electric shock.fi

Object and Liquid Entry: Never push objects of any kind into this product through open-

POWER SUPPLY
The CR-A54 operates from AC 120V 60Hz or 220V 50Hz household
mains supply.
The CR-A50 operates from AC 120V 60Hz household mains supply.
Before connecting to the power supply, ensure the rated voltage of this
unit matches your local voltage.
Warning: Disconnect the mains plug from the wall outlet when it is not in
use to avoid the risk of electric shock.
BATTERY BACK-UP
Install a 9V type 006P battery in the battery compartment for clock
backup (not for radio operation). The time will be preserved in the
case of a power failure. Replace the battery every 6 months for best
performance. Remove the battery if the unit will not be in use for a
long period of time.
SETTING THE CORRECT TIME
Hold the CLOCK button [8] and simultaneously press the HOUR button
[6] or MINUTE button [5] until the desired time is displayed.
RADIO OPERATION:
1. To turn the radio on, set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the “ON”
position.
2. To select the AM or FM radio band, set the AM/FM/AUX switch [11] to
the AM or FM position.
3. To tune to a radio station, turn the TUNING dial [10].
4. To adjust the volume level, turn the VOLUME dial [13].
5. To turn the radio off, set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the “OFF”
position.
ALARM TIMER (WAKE TO RADIO OR BUZZER)
1. To set the alarm timer: hold the ALARM button [7] and simultaneously
press the HOUR button [6] or MINUTE button [5] until the desired time is
displayed.
2. To wake to radio: Turn the radio on to tune to the desired radio station
and set the desired volume level.
To wake to buzzer: Turn the VOLUME dial [13] all the way down until it
clicks into the “BUZZER ON” position.
3. To activate the alarm timer, set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the
“AUTO” position. The ALARM INDICATOR will light up. When the alarm
timer reaches the set time, the radio or buzzer will activate to wake you
up.
4. To turn off the alarm timer, set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the “OFF”
position.
SNOOZE DELAYED ALARM
1. To delay the alarm timer (snooze), press the SNOOZE button [16]
when the alarm timer sounds. The alarm timer will sound again 9
minutes later.
2. To cancel the snooze operation and turn the alarm timer off
completely, set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the "OFF" position.
SLEEP OR SLEEP-AND-WAKE TO RADIO
1. Turn the radio on to tune to the desired radio station and set the
desired volume
level.
2. To Sleep to Radio: Set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the “OFF”
position.
To Sleep-and-Wake to Radio: Set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the
“AUTO”
position.
3. To activate the Sleep timer, press the SLEEP button [9]. The clock
will display
“0:59” to indicate the default sleep period. The radio will turn off
automatically
when the sleep period is over (59 minutes).
4. To increase the sleep period: Hold the SLEEP button [9] and
simultaneously press the HOUR button [6]. The sleep timer will
increase by one hour to “1:59” (1 hour and 59 minutes).
To reduce the sleep period: Hold the SLEEP button [9] and
simultaneously press the MINUTE button [5]. The sleep timer will
decrease by one minute.
5. To turn the radio off before the sleep timer is over, press the
SNOOZE button [16].
AUXILIARY AUDIO INPUT FROM EXTERNAL DEVICE
1. Set the AM/FM/AUX switch [11] to the "AUX" position.
2. Set the FUNCTION switch [4] to the "ON" position.
3. Use a 3.5mm male to male audio cable to connect the Headphone /
Audio Out jack of the external device to the AUX IN jack [12] of the
CRA-54/50.
4. Adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level and start playback
on the external device. You may also use the VOLUME dial [13] of the
CRA-54/50 to adjust the volume level.
