3. OPERATIONAL PANEL
Handling Discs
Handling
New discs may have some roughness
around the edges. If such discs are used,
the player may not work or the sound may
skip. Use a ball-point pen or the like to
remove any roughness from the edge of
the disc.
Never stick labels on the surface of the disc
or mark the surface with a pencil or pen.
Never play a disc with any cellophane tape
or other glue on it or with peeling off marks.
If you try to play such a disc, you may not
be able to get it back out of the player or it
may damage the player.
Do not use discs that have large
scratches, are misshapen, cracked, etc.
Use of such discs may cause
misoperation or damage.
To remove a disc from its storage case,
press down on the center of the case and
lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the
edges.
Do not use commercially available disc
protection sheets or discs equipped with
stabilizers, etc. These may damage the
disc or cause breakdown of the internal
mechanism.
Storage
Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or
any heat source.
Do not expose discs to excess humidity or
dust.
Do not expose discs to direct heat from
heaters.
Cleaning
To remove ngermarks and dust, use a soft
cloth and wipe in a straight line from the
center of the disc to the circumference.
Do not use any solvents, such as
commercially available cleaners, anti-static
spray, or thinner to clean discs.
After using special disc cleaner, let the disc
dry off well before playing it.
On Discs
Never turn off the power and remove the
unit from the car with a disc loaded.
CAUTION
For your safety, the driver should not insert
or eject a disc while driving.

5. OPERATIONS
Basic Operations
Note:
Refer to the diagrams in “3. CONTROLS”
when reading this chapter.
CAUTION
When the unit is turned on, starting and
stopping the engine with its volume
raised to the maximum level may harm
your hearing.
Be careful about adjusting the volume.
Power on / off
Notes:
Start the engine before using this unit.
Be careful about using this unit for a long
time without running the engine. If you
drain the cars battery too far, you may not
be able to start the engine and this can
reduce the service life of the battery.
1. Start the engine. The power button / knob
illumination on the unit will light up.
Engine ON
position
2. Press the [SRC / ] button on the front
panel to turn on the power under standby
mode. The unit goes back to the last
status after power on.
3. Press and hold the [ ] button on SRC /
the front panel to turn off the power.
CT (Clock Time) display
• The displayed clock data is based on the
CT (clock time) data in the RDS signal.
Volume adjustment
Turn the [ ] knob on the front panel.VOLUME
The adjustable range of volume is 0 to 40.
CAUTION
While driving, keep the volume level at
which external sounds can still be heard.
Playing source selection
Press [ ] button on the front panel SRC /
repeatedly to choose desired playing source.
Note:
Playing source selection means selecting
which mode, such as mode, DISC RADIO
mode and AUX mode.
Display system time
Press the [ ] button on the front panel to DISP
switch the display information between RDS
information, system time and playing source.

DX/LO (RADIO mode)
Rotate the [ ] knob to choose radio VOLUME
local or distant at RADIO mode.
: Only stations with strong signal can be LO
received.
: Stations with strong and weak signals DX
can be received.
AUX SENS (AUX mode)
Rotate the [ ] knob to choose AUX VOLUME
Input sensitivity LOW, MID or HIGH at AUX
mode.
SCRN SVR: ON/OFF
Rotate the [ ] knob to choose SCRN VOLUME
SVR (screen saver) ON or OFF.
SCROLL: ON/OFF
For track information that is longer than the
display panel:
When SCROLL is ON, the LCD will display
ID3 TAG informati on cyclely, e.g: TRACK-
>FOLDER->FILE->ALBUM->TITLE->ARTIST-
>TRACK->...
When SCOLL is OFF, the LCD will scroll the
ID3 TAG information across the display, the
default is TRACK, but user can adjust it to other
ID3 TAG information by press [ ] button.DISP

Rotate the [VOLUME] knob to choose S-CTRL
(Simple Control) ON or OFF.

The sound from this unit is muted during
telephone calls.

This unit continues normal operation even
when the cellular phone is used.

You can listen to your telephone calls from
the speakers connected to this unit.
*When listening to your calls on your car
speakers, you can adjust the volume by
turning the [ ] knob. VOLUME
BEEP: ON/OFF
Rotate the [ ] knob to choose button VOLUME
beep sound ON or OFF.
RESET:
1. Select ”RESET”.
2. Press and hold the [ ] knob to VOLUME
reset.
3. Settings will be set to the default value.
4. The unit will be turned off automatically.
Note:
When the [ ] is selected and you RESET
press and hold the [ ] knob, VOLUME
radio station frequencies, titles, and
other data stored in memory are cleared.
Press the [ ] button to enter sound effect
setting mode. First press shows current EQ.

Audio Setup
Select tuner as playing source
Press [ ] button once or more to enter SRC /
RADIO mode.
Select the radio band
Press the [ ] button on the panel to select BAND
one radio band among FM1, FM2, FM3, MW
and LW.
Manual tuning
During manual tuning, the frequency will be
changed in steps.
Press the [ ] / [ ] buttons on the panel
to select a higher / lower station.
Auto tuning
Press and hold the [ ] / [ ] buttons on
the panel to seek a higher / lower station.
To stop searching, repeat the operation above
or press other buttons having radio functions.
Note:
When a station is received, searching stops and
the station is played.
Preset scan
Preset scan receives the stations stored in
preset memory in order. This function is useful
when searching for a desired station in memory.

Radio Operations
1. Press the [ ] button.PS/AS
2. When a desired station is tuned in,
press the [ ] button again to PS/AS
continue receiving that station.
Note:
Be careful not to press and hold the
[ ] button for 1 second or longer, PS/AS
otherwise the auto store function will
begin and the unit starts storing stations.
Auto store
Only stations with sufcient signal strength
will be detected and stored in the memory.
Press and hold the [ ] button (1 sec.) PS/AS
to start automatic station search.
To stop auto store, press other buttons
having radio functions.
Notes:
1. After auto store, the previous stored
stations will be overwritten.
2. The unit has 5 bands, such as FM1,
FM2, FM3, MW, LW. FM3 and MW, LW
can store by AS function. Each bands
can store 6 stations, CZ202E/CZ202ER/
CZ202EG can store 30 stations in total.

Manual store
When one expected radio station has been
detected, press and hold number button 1-6 to
store it in the memory.
Recall the stored stations
Press one numeric button among 1 to 6 on the
panel to select the corresponding stored station.
Local seeking
When LOCAL seeking is ON, only those radio
stations with strong radio signal could be
received.
To select LOCAL function, press and hold
the [ ] button on the front panel, then DISP
press [ ] button repeatedly until LO or
DX displays on the screen, and rotate the
[ ] knob to select Local or Distant VOLUME
mode.
Note:
The number of radio stations that can be
received will decrease after the local seeking
mode is ON.
Radio Data System Operations
Radio Data System
This unit has a built-in “Radio Data System”
decoder system that supports broadcast stations
transmitting “Radio Data System” data.
When using the “Radio Data System” function,
always set the radio to FM mode.
AF function
The AF funct ion s witche s to a d iffere nt
frequency on the same network in order to
maintain optimum reception.
* The factory default setting is ON.
1. Set to system setup by long pressing [DISP]
button.
2. Press the [ ] or [ ] button to select
“ ”.AF
3. Rotate the [ ] knob to select ON or VOLUME
OFF.
AF ON:
” indicator appears in the display and AF AF
function turns on.
AF OFF:
indicator disappears in the display and AF
AF function turns off.
REG (Regional programme)
function
When the REG function is ON, the optimum
regional station can be received. When this
function is OFF, if the regional station area
switches as you drive, a regional station for
that region is received.
* The factory default setting is ON.
Notes:
This function is disabled when a national
sta tion su ch a s B BC R2 is bei ng
received.
The REG function ON/OFF setting is
valid when the AF function is ON.

Selecting a track
Track-up
1. Press the [ ] button to move ahead to
the beginning of the next track.
2. Each time you press the [ ] button, the
track advances ahead to the beginning of the
next track.
3. For MP3/WMA disc, press and hold the [6]
button to move ahead to +10 tracks.(1 sec.)
Track-down
1. Press the [ ] button to move back to the
beginning of the current track.
2. Press the [ ] button twice to move back
to the beginning of the previous track.
3. For MP3/WMA disc, press and hold the [5]
button to move back to -10 tracks.(1 sec.)
Fast-forward/Fast-reverse

Press and hold the [ ] button .

Press and hold the [ ] button .
* For MP3/WMA discs, it takes some time until
the start of searching and between tracks. In
addition, some error may occur in the play time.
Folder Select
This f unct ion allows you to select a f olde r
containing MP3/WMA les and start playing from
the rst track in the folder.

appears in the display.
4. Turn the knob to select a track.[VOLUME]

* When play back MP3 / WMA file, this
function is performed in the current
folder.
Top function
The top function resets the CD player to the
rst track of the disc. Press and hold the [ ] 4
button (1 sec.) to play the rst track (track No.
1) on the disc.
* In case of MP3/WMA, the rst track of
the current folder will be played.
Other various play functions
Scan play
This function allows you to locate and
play the first 10 seconds of all the tracks
recorded on a disc.
Press the [ ] button to perform scan play. 1
Repeat play
This function allows you to play the current
track repeatedly or play a track currently
being played in the MP3/W MA f older
repeatedly.
CD:
1. Press the [ ] button once or more 2
until appears on the LCD to RPT ON
perform repeat play.
2. Press [ ] button repeatedly until 2 RPT
OFF appears on the LCD to cancel
repeat playback.
MP3/WMA:
1. Press the [ ] button once or more until 2
appears on the display to TRACK RPT
perform repeat play, and “ segment RPT
lights on.
2. For MP3/WMA files, press [ ] button 2

appears on the display for folder repeat
play.
3. Press [ ] button repeatedly until 2 RPT
OFF” appears on the display to cancel
repeat playback, and “RPT” segment

Random play
This function allows you to play all tracks
recorded on a disc in a random order.
Press the [ ] button to perform random 3
play.
1. Open the cover of the USB connector to the
right. Insert a USB cable (CCA-755) into the
USB connector. Insert a USB device into
the USB cable.
When connecting a USB device, the unit
will read the les automatically.
2. To remove the USB device, you should rst
select another source or turn off the power,
in order to avoid damaging the USB device.
Then take off the USB device. Open the
cover to the left.
3. Operation is same as MP3/WMA operation.

iPod & iPhone Operations
Connect
Connect an iPod or i Phone t o the USB
connector via CCA-748 cable.
When connecting a device, the unit will read
the files automatically. The track information
display on the screen once playback start.

Random play
This function allows you to play all tracks
recorded on a disc in a random order.
1. Press [ 3 ] button repeatedly until “ALBUM
RDM” appears on the LCD for album random
play.
2. Press the button once or more until [ 3 ]
appears on the LCD to SONG RDM
perform random play.
3. Press button repeatedly until [ 3 ] RDM
OFF a ppears o n the LC D to canc el
random playback.
Setting iPod simple control mode
Use this function if you wish to operate
through your iPod connected to this unit via
the USB cable.

This function searches the subfolders for
desired alphabetical letters.
1. Press the [MENU] button to select the iPod
menu mode.
2. Press the knob to switch [V OLUME]
between categories.

1. Do not open the case. There are no
user serviceable parts inside. If you
drop anything into the unit during
installation, consult your dealer or an
authorized Clarion service center.
2. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the case.
Never use a rough cloth, thinner,
benzine, or alcohol etc. For tough dirt,
apply a little cold or warm water to a
soft cloth and wipe off the dirt gently.

4) Cautions on Installation
1. Prepare all articles necessary for
installing the source unit before
starting.
2. Install the unit within 30° of the
horizontal plane. (Figure 2)
3. If you have to do any work on the car
body, such as drilling holes, consult
your car dealer beforehand.
4. Use the enclosed screws for
installation.
Using other screws can cause
damage.

5) Installing the Source Unit
1. Place the mounting bracket into the instrument panel, use a screwdriver to bend
each stopper of the mounting bracket inward, then secure the stopper.
2. Wire as shown in Section 7) .
3. Insert the source unit into the mounting bracket until it locks.
4. Take care of the top and bottom of the trim ring and mount it so that all the hooks
are locked.
Notes:
1. Some car models require special mounting kits for proper installation.
Consult your Clarion dealer for details.
2. Fasten the front stopper securely to prevent the source unit from coming loose.

Notes of installation
1. Before installation, please make sure
proper connections are conducted and
the unit operates normally. Improper
connection may result in damage to the
unit.
2. Use only accessories designed and
manufactured for this unit and other
unauthorized accessories may result in
damage to the unit.
3. Before installation, please fasten all power
cables.
4. DO NOT install the unit in the place where
close to hot area to prevent damage to
electrical components such as the laser
head.
5. Install the unit horizontally. Installing the
unit more than 30 degree vertically may
result in worse performance.
6. To prevent electric spark, connect the
positive pole rst and then the negative
pole.
7. DO NOT block the cooling fan exit to
ensure sufcient heating dissipation of this
unit, or it may result in damage to this unit.
Unit Installation
Method A
1. Insert mounting bracket into dash board,
choose appropriate mounting tab according
to the gap width, bending the mounting
tab outwards with a screwdriver to x the
mounting bracket in place.
2. Screw in 1 piece of M4×42 to the hole of
the unit back and put on a rubber cap over
the screw. (see picture below)
3. Slide the unit into the bracket until you hear
a click sound.

2. Push the trim ring to left and pull out the
left part.
Disassemble the unit
1. Switch off the power.
2. Remove the panel.
3. Remove the trim ring.
4. Insert the removal keys straight back until
they lock, then pull the unit out.
5. Disconnect all the wires.
Method B 6) Removing the Source Unit

1. Insert this unit directly to the opening of
the dashboard.
2. Place M5×6 cylindrical screw through the
holes of the mounting frame located inside
the opening to holes of the unit and fasten
the screws to left & right.

2. PRÉCAUTIONS
Par mesure de sécurité, le conducteur ne doit pas utiliser les commandes pendant qu’il conduit.
Par ailleurs, en roulant, maintenez le volume à un niveau permettant d’entendre les sons extérieurs.
AVERTISSEMENT
1. Lorsque l’intérieur de la voiture est très
froid et que le lecteur est utilisé aussitôt
après avoir allumé le chauffage, de la
condensation peut se former sur le disque
ou les composants optiques du lecteur,
ce qui risque d’affecter la lecture. Si de
la condensation se forme sur le disque,
essuyez-le avec un chiffon doux. Si de la
condensation se forme sur les composants
optiques du lecteur, cessez d’utiliser le
lecteur pendant une heure environ. La
condensation disparaîtra naturellement et le
fonctionnement normal sera rétabli.
2. Conduire sur des routes très cahoteuses
ou difciles peut être à l’origine d’un son
saccadé.
3. Des pièces et des composants de grande
précision entrent dans le fonctionnement de
cet appareil. En cas de problème, n’ouvrez
jamais le boîtier, ni ne démontez l’appareil,
ni ne lubriez les pièces en mouvement.

Façade/Généralités
Lisez attentivement les précautions
suivantes pour obtenir une durée de service
plus longue.
Ne laissez pas de liquides (boissons,
parapluies, etc.) pénétrer dans l’appareil
sous peine d’endommager le circuit
interne.
Ne démontez ni ne modiez l’appareil de
quelque façon que ce soit sous peine de
provoquer des dégâts.
Ne laissez pas de cigarettes brûler
l’afchage sous peine d’abîmer ou
déformer le boîtier.
En cas de problème, conez l’appareil au
magasin d’achat pour inspection.
Nettoyage du boîtier
Utilisez un chiffon doux et sec, et
essuyez délicatement la saleté ou la
poussière.
Pour les saletés tenaces, appliquez un
détergent neutre dilué dans l’eau sur un
chiffon doux et frottez délicatement, puis
essuyez avec un chiffon sec.
N’utilisez pas de benzène, diluant,
nettoyant pour voiture, etc., car ces
substances peuvent abîmer le boîtier ou
décoller la peinture. En outre, des tâches
peuvent apparaître si vous laissez des
produits en caoutchouc ou en plastique
en contact prolongé avec le boîtier.
Port USB
La clé USB peut dépasser une
fois insérée, ce qui présente un
danger pendant la conduite. Lors du
raccordement d’une clé USB à l’appareil
principal, utilisez un câble de rallonge
USB (CCA-755).
Les clés USB doivent être reconnues
comme faisant partie de la « classe
de stockage de masse USB » pour
fonctionner correctement. Certains
modèles peuvent ne pas fonctionner
correctement.
Clarion ne saurait être tenu
responsable de toute perte ou d’un
dommage quelconque des données
sauvegardées.
Il est recommandé de faire au préalable
une copie de sauvegarde des données
contenues sur la clé USB au moyen d’un
ordinateur personnel ou autre lors de
l’utilisation d’une clé USB.
Les chiers de données peuvent être
endommagés si vous utilisez la clé USB
dans les situations suivantes : Lors du
débranchement de la clé USB ou de la
mise hors tension de l’appareil pendant la
lecture des données.
En présence d’électricité statique ou de
bruit électrique.
Insérez/retirez la clé de mémoire USB en
dehors de l’accès à son contenu.
La connexion à un ordinateur n’est pas
garantie.

Retirer le DCP
Le panneau de commande peut être retiré
pour prévenir le vol. Une fois le panneau de
commande retiré, rangez-le dans le boîtier
pour DCP (D E TACHABL E CONTROL

égratignures.
Nous vous recommandons d’e mporter le
DCP a vec vous l ors que vous quitt ez le
véhicule.
1. Appuyez sur la touche [ ] (pendant SRC /
1 seconde) pour éteindre l’appareil.
2. En fon cez l a touc he [ ] p o u r OP EN
déverrouiller le DCP.
3. Tenez la partie sortie et retirez le DCP.
Fixer le DCP en place
1. Tenez le DCP en veil la nt à ce que la
façade soit tournée vers vous. Insérez
le côté droit du DCP dans le support du
DCP.
2. Ap puy ez sur l e côté gauche du DCP
jusqu’à ce qu’il se verrouille en place.
Tenez le DCP comme indiqué sur l’illustration
ci-dessous, puis rangez-le dans le boîtier
pour DCP fourni.

PRÉCAUTION
Le DCP est très sensible aux chocs. Une
fois retiré, veillez à ne pas le lâcher ou le
heurter violemment.
Une fois la touche [ ] enfoncée et OPEN
le DCP verrouil, les vibrations de la
voiture peuvent le faire tomber.
Le connecteur pour lappareil principal
et le DCP est ex trêmement important.
Assurez-vous de ne pas lendommager
en appuyant dessus avec les ongles, un
tournevis, etc.
Remarque :
Si le DCP est sale, essuyez la saleté en
utilisant uniquement un chiffon doux et sec.

Remarque :
Si vous sélectionnez « RESET » et

les autres données mémorisées sont effacés.

premre pression sur la touche affiche l’EQ

FM2, FM3, MW et LW.
Accord manuel
Pendant l’accord manuel, la fréquence change
par paliers.
Appuyez sur les touches [ ]/[ ] de la
façade pour rechercher une station supérieure/
inférieure.
Accord automatique
Maintenez enfoncées les touches [ ]/[ ]
de la façade pour trouver une station
supérieure/inférieure.
Pour arrêter la recherche, répétez l’opération ci-
dessus ou appuyez sur d’autres touches ayant
des fonctions radio.
Fonctionnement de la radio
Remarque :
La recherche s’arrête lorsqu’une station est
captée et celle-ci est lue.
Balayage des stations préréglées
Cette fonction capte lune après lautre
les stations placées dans la mémoire de
préréglage. Cette fonction est pratique
pour retrouver une station donnée déjà
mémorisée.
1. Appuyez sur la touche [ ].PS/AS
2. Quand la station souhaitée est accordée,
appuyez à nouveau sur la touche [PS/AS]
pour continuer à capter cette station.
Remarque :
Veillez à ne pas maintenir enfoncée la touche
[ ] pendant plus de 1 seconde sous PS/AS
peine d’activer la fonction de mémorisation
automatique et de la mémorisation lancer
des stations sur l’appareil.
Mémorisation automatique
Seules les stations dont la puissance de
signal est sufsante sont détectées et mises
en mémoire.
