►If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrician determine that the ground path
is adequate.

Mounting Height, Clearance, & Ducting
A minimum of 6” round duct must be used to maintain
maximum air ow eciency.
Always use rigid type metal ducts only. Flexible ducts could
restrict air ow by up to 50%.
Also use calculation (on page 8) to compute total available
duct run when using elbows, transitions and caps.
ALWAYS, when possible, reduce the number or transitions
and turns. If long duct run is required, increase duct size.
If turns or transitions are required; install as far away from
hood duct output and as far apart, between the two as
possible.
Minimum mount height between range top to hood bottom
should be no less than 24”. Maximum mount height should
be no higher than 34”.
It is important to install the hood at the proper mounting
height. Hoods mounted too low could result in heat
damage and re hazard; while hoods mounted too high
will be hard to reach and will lose its performance and
eciency.
If available, also refer range manufacturer’s height
clearance requirements and recommended hood mounting
height above range.
For shipment and installation damages:
► Please fully inspect unit for damage before installation.
► If the unit is damaged in shipment, return the unit to the
store in which it was bought for repair or replacement.
► If the unit is damaged by the customer, repair or
replacement is the responsibility of the customer.
► If the unit is damaged by the installer (if other than
the customer), repair of replacement must be made by
arrangement between customer and installer.

For personal safety, remove house fuse or open circuit breaker before beginning installation. Do not
use extension cord or adapter plug with this appliance.
Follow national electrical codes or prevailing local codes and ordinances.
This appliance requires a 120V 60Hz electrical supply, and connected to an individual, properly
grounded branch circuit, protected by a 15 or 20 ampere circuit breaker or time delay fuse. Wiring
must be 2 wire w/ ground. Please also refer to the Electrical Diagram labeled on product.

Mounting the Hood
At least two installers are required due to the weight
and size of the hood.
CAUTION
1. Measure from range top to hood bottom and mark
line A (24” minimum from range top).
2. Plum and mark center line.
3. Mark hood height line B.
ZAN : 18-7/16” from line A
ZSA : 9-1/2” from line A

anchors and screws to hold the weight of the hood could result in personal injury or damage to
the cooking surface or counter.
6. Remove the aluminum mesh filters.
7. Hang hood onto the mounting screws and hand tighten each screw (FIG. B, A).
8. Center and attach duct cover mounting bracket to wall just below the ceiling or sot using (2) M6
x 1” screws.
9. Install electrical and duct work. Seal duct work with aluminum duct tape.
10. Power up hood and check for leaks around duct tape.
11. Place telescopic duct covers onto hood and extend inner (top) duct cover upwards and secure to
duct cover bracket using (2) M4 x 8 screws. Reinstall mesh filters.

12. ZRV : Lilft glass canopy and place on top of hood body, secure glass canopy to hood body by (4)
3/16 x 1/4 screws. Hand tighten screws.
13. * If using hood in recirculating mode you must secure the air diverter plate onto wall before
installing duct work and duct covers. You will also need to install charcoal filters and brackets.
Turn to page 18 for more details.
Mounting the Hood
Ductless Recirculation
Ductless recirculation is intended for applications where an exhaust duct work is not possible to be
installed. When converted, the hood functions as a recirculating hood rather than an exhaust hood.
Fumes and exhaust from cooking are drawn and filtered by a set of optional charcoal filters. The air is
then purified and re-circulated back within the home.
We recommend to ALWAYS exhaust air outside of the home by employing existing or installing new
duct work, if possible. The hood is most eective and ecient as an exhaust hood. Only when the
exhaust option is not possible should you recourse to converting the hood into a recirculating hood.
When converted to be a recirculating hood, a set of charcoal filters are required on top of its standard
Metal Filter set. Order according to its part number below. The standard mesh filters are intended to
capture residue from cooking, and the optional charcoal filters help to purify fumes exhausted from
cooking for recirculation.
Recirculating Kit Installation (required if no ducting is used)
For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the manual included with the recirculating kit.
The kit includes the charcoal filters, charcoal filter brackets, and air diverter plate.

Installation Instructions
1. Purchase recirculating kit per the part number on
the table.
2. Secure air diverter plate to wall below duct cover
bracket. Run 6” ducting from top of hood and
secure to air diverter plate (FIG. C).
3. ZAN: Remove aluminum mesh filters from hood.
Secure charcoal filters to back side of aluminum
mesh filter by 3 brackets (FIG C2).
4. ZSA, ZRV, ZRO: Remove aluminum mesh filters from
hood. Secure charcoal filter brackets to the hood
body behind each mesh filters using the screws
included in the recirculating kit. Clip charcoal
filters onto each charcoal filter bracket (FIG. C1).
5. Re-install mesh filters.
6. Charcoal filters must be replaced every 120 hours
of use (or approximately every 3 to 4 months based
on an average of 1 - 2 hours of daily cooking time).
DO NOT WASH CHARCOAL FILTERS. Charcoal filters
may need to be changed more often depending on
cooking habits.

- Pressing Button while Delay O Function is enabled will turn the hood o and
cancel the Delay O Function.
ACT Verification
- Airflo rol Technology (A ) allows the installer to set the maximum fan w Cont CT
CFM to align with local codes and regulations.
- To verify the maximum fan CFM:
- With hood o, hold the Button for two seconds. If all five fan speed
indicators illuminate = default maximum CFM. If four fan speed indicators
illuminate = 390 maximum CFM. If 3 fan speed indicators illuminate = 290
maximum CFM.

Optional RF Remote Control
To enable RF remote control capabilities, the remote control accessory kit is required. The part
number for the kit is RC-0002.

Installation
To install remote control accessory kit, please follow these steps below.
1. ZSA: Remove aluminum mesh filters.
2. ZAN, ZRO, ZRV: Locate PC board box on top of blower housing.
3. Remove 2-4 screws attaching PC board cover.
4. Connect the red wiring from the remote control control board to red connector in hood PC board.
5. Adhere remote control control board near PC board box.
6. The blue antenna wire needs to be extended for optimal signal. There is no need to secure it.
Synchronization
To create a unique link between your hood and remote control please follow these steps.
1. With hood o, press and hold the Lights button on the hood until the controls illuminate and flash.
2. Press a button on the remote, and the remote control will be synchronized with the hood.

Optional RF Remote Control
RF Remote Features
The RF remote control is equipped with a magnet on the back for easy storage. The remote may be
placed on any magnetic surface such as a refrigerator or the Zephyr remote holder, FIG. D. The
remote holder can be inserted into a standard electrical outlet for easy storage. Note: The remote
holder does not charge the RF remote.
Maximum remote control communication distance is 15 feet from the liner.
RF Remote Maintenance
Clean the remote control using non abrasive detergents.
Follow instructions below for replacing battery. Using a small flat head screwdriver, raise the cover of
the battery door (A) in order to access the battery compartment. FIG. E.
Remove the battery and replace with battery type A23 12V. Negative end of battery should face the
spring inside the remote.
Re-install battery door and recycle old battery.

Hood & Filter Cleaning
Surface Maintenance
►Do not use corrosive detergents, abrasive detergents or oven cleaners.
►Do not use any product containing chlorine bleach or any product containing chloride.
►Do not use steel wool or abrasive scrubbing pads which will scratch and damage surface.
Cleaning Stainless Steel
Clean periodically with warm soapy water and clean cotton cloth or micro fiber cloth. Always rub
in the direction of the stainless steel grain. To remove heavier grease build up use a liquid degreaser
detergent.
After cleaning use a non-abrasive stainless steel polish/cleaners, to polish and bu out the stainless
luster and grain. Always scrub lightly, with clean cotton cloth or micro fiber cloth and bu in the
direction of the stainless steel grain.
Cleaning Grease Filters
The grease filters installed by the factory are intended to filter out residue and grease from cooking.
They need not be replaced on a regular basis but are required to be kept clean.
Remove and clean by hand or in dishwasher using a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration of
the grease filter may occur if using phosphate detergents, or as a result of local water conditions -
but this will not aect filter performance. This discoloration is not covered by the warranty. Spray
degreasing detergent and leave to soak if heavily soiled.
Dry grease filters and re-install before using hood.

performing the conversion instructions listed below. Failure to do
so could result in personal injury or damage to the product.

After re-positioning the jumper and powering on the hood, the
CFM cannot be changed again.

ACT™ Conversion
Airow Control Technology (ACT™)
Some local codes limit the maximum amount of CFM a range hood can move. ACT™ allows you
to control the maximum blower CFM of select Zephyr Ventilation range hoods without the need for
expensive make up air kits. ACT™ enables the installer to easily set the maximum blower speed to
one of two most commonly specied CFM levels; 390 or 290 CFM. The usage of ACT™ may not be
necessary for your installation. Please check your local codes for CFM restrictions.

ACT™ Conversion
Enabling ACT™
To enable ACT™:
1. Before hood installation, gain access to PC board by following the steps shown on FIG. H.
2. Change plastic jumper positioning as shown in FIG. I to set the desired maximum blower CFM.
3. Re-install PC board and continue with hood installation.
4. Remove the appropriate foil CFM sticker included with the hood literature and place inside the
hood body below the wiring diagram or in another clearly visible location.
To verify if your installer enabled ACT™:
1. With hood o, hold the power button for three seconds. If 5 LEDs illuminate = default max. If 4
LEDs illuminate = max. 390 CFM, and if 3 LEDS illuminate = max. 290 CFM.
2. When ACT™ is enabled, the number of blower speeds will be reduced. 390 CFM = max. 4 speeds
and 290 CFM = max. 3 speeds.
3. There should also be a foil label located inside the hood body near the wiring diagram that
indicates the blower CFM.

Three Year Limited Warranty for Parts: For three years from the date of your original purchase of the Products, we will
provide, free of charge, Products or parts (including LED light bulbs, if applicable) to replace those that failed due to
manufacturing defects subject to the exclusions and limitations below. We may choose, in our sole discretion, to repair or
replace parts before we elect to replace the Products.
One Year Limited Warranty for Labor: For one year from the date of your original purchase of the Products, we will
provide, free of charge, the labor cost associated with repairing the Products or parts to replace those that failed due to
manufacturing defects subject to the exclusions and limitations below. After the first year from the date of your original
purchase, you are responsible for all labor costs asso t cia ed wi is anth h t warr ty.
Warranty Exclusions: This warranty covers only repair or replacement, at our option, of defective Products or parts and
does not cover any other costs related to the Products including but not limited to: (a) normal maintenance and service
required for the Products and consumable parts such as fluorescent, incandescent or hal en light bulbs, mesh and char-og
coal filters and fuses; (b) any Products or parts which have been subject to freight damage, misuse, negligence, accident,
faulty installation or installation contrary to recommended installation instructi s, improper maintenance or repair (other on
than by us); (c) commercial or government use of the Products or use otherwise inconsistent with its intended purpose; (d)
natural wear of the finish of the Products or wear c sed by improper maintenance, use of corrosive and abrasive cl ning au ea
products, pads, and oven cleaner products; (e) chips, dents or cracks caused by abuse or misuse of the Products; (f) service
trips to your home to teach you how to use the Products; (g) damage to the Product caused by accident, fire, floods, acts s
of God; or (h) Custom installations or alterations that impact ic the Products. If you are outside our service serv eability of
area, additional charges may apply for shipping costs for warranty repair at our designated service locations and for the
travel cost to have a service technician come to your home to repair, remove or reinstall the Products. After the first year
from the date of your original purchase, you are also responsible for all labor costs associated with this warranty. All Products
must be installed by a qualified professional installer to be eligible for warranty repairs or service.
Limitations of Warranty. OUR OBLIGATION TO REPAIR OR REPLACE, AT OUR OPTION, SHALL BE YOUR SOLE

Hauteur de montage, dégagement et gaine
Un conduit rond d’au moins 6 po doit être utilisé pour
maintenir une ecacité maximale du débit d’air. Utilisez
toujours uniquement des conduits métalliques de type rigide.
Les conduits flexibles pourraient restreindre le débit d’air
jusqu’à 50 %. Utilisez également le calcul (à la page 8) pour
calculer la longueur totale de conduit disponible lors de
l’utilisation de coudes, de transitions et de capuchons.
TOUJOURS, lorsque cela est possible, réduisez le nombre de
transitions et de virages. Si une longue longueur de conduit
est nécessaire, augmentez la taille du conduit.
Si des virages ou des transitions sont nécessaires ; installer le
plus loin possible de la sortie du conduit de la hotte et aussi
loin entre les deux que possible.
La hauteur de montage minimale entre le haut de la cuisinière
et le bas de la hotte ne doit pas être inférieure à 24 po. La
hauteur de montage maximale ne doit pas dépasser 34 po.
Il est important d’installer la hotte à la bonne hauteur de
montage. Les hottes montées trop bas peuvent entraîner des
dommages causés par la chaleur et un risque d’incendie ;
tandis que les capots montés trop haut seront diciles à
atteindre et perdront en performance et en ecacité.
Si disponible, reportez-vous également aux exigences de
dégagement en hauteur du fabricant de la cuisinière et à la
hauteur de montage de la hotte recommandée au-dessus de
la cuisinière.
Pour les dommages d’expédition et d’installation:
►Veuillez inspecter complètement l’unité pour les
dommages avant l’installation. Si l’appareil est
endommagé pendant le transport, renvoyez-le
au magasin où il a été acheté pour réparation ou
remplacement.
►Si l’appareil est endommagé par le client, la réparation ou
le remplacement est à la charge du client.
►Si l’unité est endommagée par l’installateur (si autre que le
client), la réparation ou le remplacement doit être eectué
après accord entre le client et l’installateur.

Fourniture électrique
Pour votre sécurité personnelle, retirez le fusible de la maison ou ouvrez le disjoncteur avant de
commencer l’installation. N’utilisez pas de rallonge ni de fiche d’adaptateur avec cet appareil.
Suivez les codes électriques nationaux ou les codes et règlements locaux en vigueur.

Montage de la hotte
Au moins deux installateurs sont nécessaires en
raison du poids et de la taille de la hotte.
AVERTISSEMENT
1. Mesurez du haut de la cuisinière au bas de la hotte
et marquez la ligne A (minimum de 24 po à partir
du haut de la cuisinière).
2. Ligne médiane prune et marque.
3. Marquez la hauteur de la hotte ligne B.

conduit
de montants. Des ancrages muraux peuvent également être utilisés, mais vérifiez la conformité
aux codes locaux. Le fait de ne pas utiliser des ancrages muraux et des vis appropriés pour
supporter le poids de la hotte pourrait entraîner des blessures ou endommager la surface de
cuisson ou le comptoir.
6. Retirez les filtres à mailles en aluminium.
7. Accrochez la hotte aux vis de montage et serrez à la main chaque vis (FIG. B, A).
8. Centrez et fixez le support de montage du cache-conduit au mur juste en dessous du plafond ou
du sote à l’aide de (2) vis M6 x 1 po.
9. Installer les travaux électriques et de conduits. Sceller les conduits avec du ruban adhésif en
aluminium.

10. Allumez la hotte et vériez s’il y a des fuites autour du ruban adhésif.
11. Placez les couvercles de conduit télescopiques sur la hotte et étendez le couvercle de conduit
intérieur (supérieur) vers le haut et xez-le au support de couvercle de conduit à l’aide de (2) vis
M4 x 8. Réinstallez les ltres à mailles.
12. ZRV : soulevez la verrière en verre et placez-la sur le dessus du corps de la hotte, xez la verrière en
verre au corps de la hotte à l’aide de (4) vis 3/16 x 1/4. Serrez les vis à la main.
13. * Si vous utilisez une hotte en mode recirculation, vous devez xer la plaque de dérivation d’air sur
le mur avant d’installer les conduits et les couvercles de conduits. Vous devrez également installer
des ltres à charbon et des supports. Allez à la page 18 pour plus de détails.
Mounting the Hood
Recirculation sans conduit
La recirculation sans conduit est destinée aux applications où un conduit d’évacuation ne peut pas être
installé. Une fois convertie, la hotte fonctionne comme une hotte à recirculation plutôt que comme une
hotte aspirante. Les fumées et les gaz d’échappement de la cuisson sont aspirés et ltrés par un ensemble
de ltres à charbon en option. L’air est ensuite purié et recyclé dans la maison.
Nous recommandons de TOUJOURS évacuer l’air à l’extérieur de la maison en utilisant des conduits
existants ou en installant de nouveaux conduits, si possible. La hotte est la plus ecace et la plus ecace
en tant que hotte aspirante. Ce n’est que lorsque l’option d’échappement n’est pas possible que vous
devriez recourir à la conversion de la hotte en hotte à recirculation.
Lorsqu’il est converti en hotte à recirculation, un ensemble de ltres à charbon est requis en plus de son
ensemble de ltres métalliques standard. Commandez selon son numéro de pièce ci-dessous. Les ltres à
mailles standard sont destinés à capturer les résidus de cuisson, et les ltres à charbon en option aident à
purier les fumées épuisées de la cuisson pour la recirculation.

Installation du kit de recirculation (requis si aucun conduit n’est utilisé
Pour des instructions d’installation détaillées, veuillez vous référer au manuel inclus avec le kit de
recirculation. Le kit comprend les ltres à charbon, les supports de ltre à charbon et la plaque de
dérivation d’air.
1. Achetez le kit de recirculation selon le numéro de pièce sur
le tableau.
2. Fixez la plaque de dérivation d’air au mur sous le support
du cache-conduit. Faites passer un conduit de 6 po
à partir du haut de la hotte et xez-le à la plaque de
dérivation d’air (FIG. C).
3. ZAN: Retirez les ltres à mailles en aluminium de la hotte.
Fixez les ltres à charbon à l’arrière du ltre à mailles en
aluminium à l’aide de 3 supports (FIG C2).
4. ZSA, ZRV, ZRO: retirez les ltres à mailles en aluminium
de la hotte. Fixez les supports du ltre à charbon au corps
de la hotte derrière chaque ltre à mailles à l’aide des vis
incluses dans le kit de recirculation. Clipsez les ltres à
charbon sur chaque support de ltre à charbon (FIG. C1).
5. Réinstallez les ltres à mailles.
6. Les ltres à charbon doivent être remplacés toutes les 120
heures d’utilisation (ou environ tous les 3 à 4 mois sur la
base d’une moyenne de 1 à 2 heures de temps de cuisson
quotidien).
NE PAS LAVER LES FILTRES À CHARBON. Les ltres à charbon
peuvent devoir être changés plus souvent selon les habitudes
de cuisson.

1 MISE EN MARCHE/ARRÊT À RETARDEMENT
Fonction de la touche de mise en marche
- La touche permet d’allumer et d’éteindre toutes les fonctions de la hotte (ventilateurs et lumières).
- La hotte se rappelle la dernière vitesse et le dernier niveau d’éclairage utilisés.
(Exemple : Appuyez sur la touche lorsque le ventilateur fonctionne à la vitesse 4 et que les
lumières sont allumées à haute intensité. Si vous appuyez de nouveau sur la touche , le ventila-
teur repart à la vitesse 4 et les lumières se rallument à haute intensité.)
Fonction de la touche d’arrêt à retardement
- Lorsque le ventilateur est en cours d’utilisation, appuyez sur la touche et maintenez-la enfoncée
pendant deux secondes. Le ventilateur passe à la vitesse 1 et le compte à rebours de la minuterie de
l’arrêt à retardement commence.
Les DEL et s’illuminent et clignotent lentement en fonction du temps qu’il
reste avant l’arrêt automatique du ventilateur et des lumières.
- Appuyez sur la touche lorsque la fonction d’arrêt à retardement est en cours d’utilisation pour
éteindre la hotte et annuler la fonction d’arrêt à retardement.
Vérification de la ACT
- La technologie de contrôle du débit d’air permet à l’installeur d’ajuster la quantité maximale d’évacua-
tion de pi /min du ventilateur afin de respecter les codes et règlements en vigueur.
- Pour vérifier la quantité maximale d’évacuation de pi /min du ventilateur :
- Lorsque la hotte est éteinte, appuyez sur la touche et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant
deux secondes. Si cinq icônes de ventilateur s’illuminent, le réglage est ajusté au maximum.
Si quatre icônes s’illuminent, le maximum est de 390 pi /min. Si trois icônes s’illuminent, le
maximum est de 290 pi /min.
2 TOUCHE DE CHOIX DE VITESSE
Touche de réduction de vitesse du ventilateur
- Appuyez sur cette touche pour réduire la vitesse du ventilateur. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
- Si le ventilateur est à la vitesse 1 et que vous appuyez sur cette touche, le ventilateur s’éteint.
Touche d’augmentation de vitesse du ventilateur
- Appuyez sur cette touche pour augmenter la vitesse du ventilateur. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- Si le ventilateur est éteint et que vous appuyez sur cette touche, le ventilateur s’allume à la vitesse 1.
Choix de vitesse avec ACT activée
- Lorsque la ACT est activée, le nombre de vitesses du ventilateur est réduit comme suit :
- 390 pi /min = 4 vitesses maximum
