Before connecting/

installing the amplifier

WARNING

!This product contains chemicals known to the

State of California and other governmental en-

tities tocause cancer and birth defects or

otherreproductive harm. Washhands after

handling.

!To prevent fire hazard, the heatsink should

neverbe coveredwith items (such as papers,

cloths).

!This unit is fortheboats witha12 Vbattery

andnegative grounding. Beforeinstalling,

check the batteryvoltage.

!When installingthisunit, makesuretocon-

nect the ground wire first.Ensure that the

ground wire is properly connected to the

metalparts oftheboatbody. Theground wire

of the one ofthis unit must be connected to

the boat separately with differentscrews. If

the screw for the ground wire loosensorfalls

out,it could result in fire, generation ofsmoke

or malfunction.

!Be sure to install the fuse to the batterywire.

!Always use afuse of the rating prescribed.

The use of animproperfuse could result in

overheating and smoke,damage to the pro-

ductandinjury, includingburns.

!Check the connections of the powersupply

and speakers if the fuseof the separately sold

batterywire or the amplifierfuse blows.Deter-

mine and resolve the cause,then replace the

fuse with and identicalequivalent.

!Always installtheamplifieron aflat surface.

Do not installthe amplifier on asurface that

isnotflatorona surface witha protrusion.

Doingso couldresult in malfunction.

!When installingthe amplifier, do not allow

parts such as extra screws to get caughtbe-

tweentheamplifier andtheboat. Doing so

could cause malfunction.

!Do not allow this unittocomeintocontact

withliquids. Electricalshock couldresult.

Also, damagetothisunit,smoke,andover-

heating could result from contact with liquids.

The surfaces ofthe amplifierandany attached

speakers may also heat up and causeminor

burns.

!Intheeventofanyabnormality, thepower

supplyto theamplifieris cut offto prevent

equipmentmalfunction. Ifthisoccurs,switch

the system power offand check the power

supplyand speakerconnections. Ifyou areun-

able to determine the cause, please contact

your dealer.

!Always disconnect the negativeterminalof*

the battery beforehand to avoid the risk of

electricshock orshortcircuitduringinstalla-

tion.

!Do not attempt to disassemble or modifythis

unit. Doingsomayresultinfire, electric

shock orothermalfunction.

!Although this amplifieris designed specially

for marineapplications, it is not submersible.

Do not install it in places thatare proneto get-

ting wet.

!Do not install in places underdirect sunlight,

places exposedto extremeheat orhigh hu-

midity, or places that will get wet.

!Attachacoverorcaptotheterminals, and

prevent them from getting wet.

!Installtheamplifier in adry andwell-venti-

latedenvironment, whereotherelectricalap-

pliances installedon the boat will not interfere

with it.

!When underdirectsunlight with thecover on

forlonghours, the cockpit areamay haveex-

tremelyhigh temperatures. Allows theareato

cooldown aftercoverhas beenremoved be-

fore using amplifier.
