ETERNUS CS200c – Data Protection in a box
The ETERNUS CS200c is a complete data protection infrastructure in a
box. Using Commvault software the appliance serves as a standardized
platform for the backup and archiving of data from physical and virtual
environments. The solution is designed to meet customer demands for
easy planning, deployment, operation as well as the requests for a unied
backup solution across large or distributed enterprises. The ETERNUS
CS200c offers a wide range of cost and performance-optimized models
with multiple licensing options.
The appliance setup is easy thanks to the pre-loaded appliance image
and automated deployment support. The central management console
with GUI and remote access is used to track, index, schedule, and perform
data transfer. The unied management makes backup administration and
scheduling quite easy and eliminates multiple management points. It also
reduces risks, cuts costs and frees up administration resources.
The ETERNUS CS200c is ideal for companies of all sizes looking for a data
protection solution in a box, for consolidating backup infrastructures, for
enterprises with branch ofces/subsidiaries and for easy data backup in
specic areas, such as VM environments (traditional, converged, hyper-
converged), MS Exchange or Desktop/Laptop clients.
ETERNUS CS200c with integrated Appliance Software licensing
Licensed ETERNUS CS200c systems provide licensing for the data repository
capacity. In contrast to traditional licensing schemes which require
licensing and service for each client covered, the appliance provides at
licensing for an unlimited number of clients. The software maintenance
service for all of these clients is covered by the appliances software
service. This simplies the planning and handling of changes during data
protection operations. The licensing is available in two forms: Foundation
and Advanced.
The Appliance Foundation Software installed on the ETERNUS CS200c is
based on technology-leading Commvault software. It is closely coupled
with powerful Fujitsu system technology. The appliance software includes
an unlimited number of le system clients for virtual and physical systems.
Modern backup, archiving and recovery capabilities protect ever-growing
data volumes, efciently manage information assets, and quickly nd,
recover and access data. The deduplication feature can be enabled at
the source (client server) or the target (ETERNUS CS200c). The ETERNUS
CS200c delivers native support for clouds supporting a RESTful interface.
Additionally the appliance supports hardware snapshots of Fujitsu
Storage ETERNUS DX arrays using ETERNUS Snapshot Manager. Application
support of Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle, and SAP applications as well as
snapshot, snapshot replication, tape attachment are add-on functions.
The Appliance Advanced Software includes all of the standard features of
the Appliance Foundation Software package, but adds application support
for Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle, and SAP applications. Snapshot, snapshot
replication, and tape support are optional.
ETERNUS CS200c without license
The ‘ETERNUS CS200c without license’ is the best choice for existing
Commvault environments. The system is pre-congured and pre-installed
offering an easy and quick start-up. The appliance is available as entry
and scale model with several capacity points.
Use this delivery model in combination with Commvault solution sets
or standard Commvault software licensing. It is an easy way to quickly
deploy new Commvault media agents that can be scale and performance-
optimized into the existing environment.
