BEFORE USING THIS MACHINE READ
ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND CAUTIONARY
MARKINGS IN THIS MANUAL AND ON
THE MACHINE
When using an electrical appliance, basic
precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
WARNING
These warnings apply to the machine,
and also where applicable, to all tools,
accessories, chargers or mains adaptors.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC
SHOCK OR INJURY:
1. This Dyson machine is not intended for
use by, on, or near young children, invalids
or infirm persons with reduced physical,
sensory or reasoning capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction by a
responsible person concerning use of the
machine to ensure that they can use it safely.
2. Do not allow to be used as a toy.
Close attention is necessary when used
by or near children. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the machine.
3. Use only as described in this Dyson
Operating Manual. carry out any Do not

4. Suitable for dry locations ONLY. Do not use
outdoors or on wet surfaces.

7. If the machine is not working as it should, has

damaged, left outdoors, or dropped
into water, do not use and contact the
Dyson Helpline.
8. Contact the Dyson Helpline when service or
repair is required. Do not disassemble the
machine as incorrect reassembly may result
in an electric shock or fire.
9. Do not stretch the cord or place the cord
under strain. Keep the cord away from
heated surfaces. close a door on the Do not

14. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all
parts of the body away from openings and
moving parts. Do not point the hose, wand
or tools at your eyes or ears or put them in
your mouth.
15. Do not put any object into openings. Do not
use with any opening blocked; keep free
of dust, lint, hair and anything that may
reduce airflow.
16. Use only Dyson recommended accessories
and replacement parts.
17. Do not use without the clear bin and filter(s)
in place.
18. Unplug from the outlet when not in use for
extended periods and before maintenance
or servicing.
19. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
20. Do not install, charge or use this machine
outdoors, in a bathroom or within 10 feet
(3 meters) of a pool. use on wet Do not
surfaces and do not expose to moisture, rain
or snow.
21. Use only Dyson specified chargers for
charging this Dyson machine. A charger that
is suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack. Use only Dyson batteries: other
types of batteries may burst, causing injury to
persons, damage and fire.
22. FIRE WARNING – place this product Do not
on or near a cooker or any other hot surface
and do not incinerate this machine even if it
is severely damaged. The battery might catch
fire or explode.
23. Always turn ‘OFF’ the machine before
connecting or disconnecting the motorized
brush bar.
24. FIRE WARNING – Do not apply any
fragrance or scented product to the filter(s) of
this machine. The chemicals in such products
are known to be flammable and can cause
the machine to catch fire.

25. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the off-position before connecting
to battery pack, picking up or carrying the
machine. Carrying the machine with your
finger on the switch or energizing machine
that has the switch on, invites accidents.
26. Do not use a battery pack or machine that
is damaged or modified. Damaged or
modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable
behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk
of injury.
27. Do not expose a battery pack or machine
to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure
to fire or temperature above 266 °F may
cause explosion.
28. Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or machine outside
of the temperature range specified in the
instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside of the specified range
may damage the battery and increase the
risk of fire.

29. The battery is a sealed unit and under
normal circumstances poses no safety
concerns. Liquid ejected from the battery
may cause irritation or burns. In the unlikely
event that liquid leaks from the battery
do not touch the liquid and observe the
following precautions:
–Skin contact – can cause irritation.
Wash with soap and water.
–Inhalation – can cause respiratory
irritation. Expose to fresh air and seek
medical advice.
–Eye contact – can cause irritation.
Immediately flush eyes thoroughly
with water for at least 15minutes.
Seek medical attention.
–Disposal – wear gloves to handle the
battery and dispose of immediately,
following local ordinances or regulations.
